Megan Martin, M.Ed., LCDC, LPC-Associate Under the Supervision of Leah J. Singer
Counseling Associate, supervised by Leah J. Singer, LPC-S
Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor seeing clients in Tomball and Cypress, Texas. She holds a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University and is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
Before becoming an LPC-A, Megan spent roughly a decade working with individuals and families navigating substance use — as a recovery coach, an LCDC counselor, and in youth-focused support roles. That background shapes how she works now: with teens, adults, couples, and families facing anxiety, codependency, and substance use, often where more than one of those is tangled together.
Megan’s ideal client is someone who feels stuck in their own head — overthinking, second-guessing, unsure how to trust themselves again. She also works closely with parents of teens who are using substances, helping them find steadiness, set boundaries, and reduce chaos at home without losing the relationship in the process. She leads Rooted Together, a support group for these parents, at Root to Rise’s Tomball location.
Megan draws on CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, motivational interviewing, family systems work, and solution-focused approaches — tailored session to session rather than applied as a single formula. She sees individuals, couples, families, and groups, in person in Tomball and Cypress or virtually across Texas.
Breslyn Shapiro, LCSW, LCDC
Counselor
Breslyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who works with adults, adolescents, and children navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston.
Breslyn uses an integrative, strengths-based approach that draws on psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapies, adapting to what each client actually needs rather than a fixed method. In addition to her clinical training, Breslyn brings lived experience navigating personal and family recovery — something she names openly, and that shapes the trust she builds with clients working through their own or a loved one’s substance use.
Her clinical background spans children’s services, adolescent intensive outpatient care, recovery support, and outpatient therapy. She’s an alumni representative on the board of Cougars in Recovery, the University of Houston’s collegiate recovery community.
Leah J. Singer, M.Ed., LPC-S, RYT-200
Founder & Clinical Director
Leah is the founder of Root to Rise Counseling & Wellness and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas. She earned her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Houston in 2016 and has spent the past decade working across crisis intervention, addiction and recovery, and outpatient mental health settings before founding Root to Rise.
Leah works primarily with adults — especially high-achieving professionals, parents, and mothers— navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, and major life transitions. She’s known for helping clients quiet a harsh inner critic, rebuild boundaries, and reconnect with themselves without having to push harder to get there. Her approach draws on relational-cultural therapy, mindfulness-based self-compassion, and somatic work, always paced around client safety and readiness.
Leah is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with training in trauma-informed yoga, which she integrates into sessions for clients who want a body-based complement to talk therapy. She sees clients in the Houston office, virtually across Texas, and — for clients who find movement easier than sitting still — via walk-and-talk sessions in the Houston area.
As an LPC-Supervisor, Leah also provides clinical supervision to LPC-Associates working toward full licensure.
